This work was a commission by Edith Molnar and Livia Paldi for the exhibition Dreamlands Burn at the Muscarnok Kunsthalle in Budapest in 2006. I was invited to create a work in relationship to the historical ‘parent” of Dreamlands Burn: the 1906/07 International Winter exhibition. I chose to include a ’slice” of the 1906 exhibition, juxtaposed with a film which forms a narration of the artworks and attempts to convey aspects of the historical and ideological framework. I am currently working on creating a single channel version of this piece.
This project was realised in collaboration with Muscarnok Kunsthalle and IASPIS – the Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s International Programme for Visual Artists.
